Mr. Pong Kai See

Graduated in 1970 with First Class Honours in Polymer Science & Technology from National College of Rubber Technology, London. Mr. Pong joined the Rubber Research Institute from 1970-1975 and completed his Masters in Techno Economics in 1973.
He started his doctorate project on techno-economic model of world rubber industry but did not complete. The last position that he held in RRI was Head of Technical Advisory Unit, Technology Division. Mr. Pong then served Plaat Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. from 1975-1986,
a company manufacturing swim caps in Penang, assisted them to overcome problems associated with cold cure technology and subsequently became the General Manager of the company. Mr. Pong has also served as the Managing Director of a number of companies including Chung Yang Rubber Works, a glove maker; Handee Engineering, glove machine maker; and Pong Kai See and Associates, a consultancy on glove technology. He was the Country Manager for DTK Computers Australia, a wholesaler of DTK PCs and computer parts from 1990 - 1994.
Subsequently, he served as the Manager Director to CY Handee Rubber Mouldings, a SMI and producer of rubber bathmats and swim fins. Currently he is the Managing Director of the CY Group of Companies comprising CY Handee, PTL Home Accessories, KRM Rubber Moulding and PTL Polymer. He was also active in the Plastic and Rubber Institute Malaysia, serving as Vice President in 1975-76,
President 2014-2019. Mr. Pong is very active in providing rubber technology training to industry and organizing international conferences; offering Diploma and Graduateship courses in rubber technology, Advance Certificate in Latex Technology, International Rubber Conference, 2018, etc.
